VilnoVilno — Privacy Policy
Vilno helps you quit nicotine. We built it so that your data stays with you.
The short version
- Everything you enter stays on your phone. We have no servers that receive it.
- No account, no sign-up, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
- Deleting the app deletes all of your data.
What the app stores on your device
- Your quit profile: quit date, what you used (cigarettes or snus), how much, the price and currency, and your reasons for quitting. Your name, if you choose to give one.
- Your journal: cravings (time, intensity, trigger, outcome, optional note) and slips.
- Settings: language, appearance, reminders, money goal, achievements.
This data is stored in a local database inside the app. Some of it (for example your craving history) can be sensitive health information. That is exactly why it never leaves your device.
What we receive
Nothing. The app makes no network requests with your data. We (the developer) cannot see, access or recover it.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally on your phone. No push server is involved. You can turn them off in the app or in your phone settings.
Links to other websites
Health milestones link to sources (WHO, CDC, Smokefree.gov). Those sites open in your browser and follow their own privacy policies.
Backups by your phone
If you use iCloud or Google device backup, your phone may include the app's data in that backup under Apple's or Google's terms. We have no access to these backups.
Your rights (GDPR)
Because we don't collect or process your data on any server, there is nothing we hold to access, correct or delete. You stay in full control: edit your data in the app, or delete the app to erase it all.
Children
Vilno is intended for adults (18+). It is not directed at children.
Changes
If a future version adds features that send data off the device (for example accounts, backup or subscriptions), we will update this policy before releasing them. Anything involving health data will need your explicit consent first.
